Screen Share Denied on macOS with Google Chrome

Screen Share Denied on macOS with Google Chrome

Issue

Some users on macOS may receive a "Screen Share Denied" error when launching BioSightPlus-ID even though they have selected allow.

This can occur when Chrome does not have the correct screen recording permissions, or when a recent browser update fails to properly recognize existing permissions.

Verify System Requirements

Before troubleshooting, confirm that your device meets the minimum operating system requirement for BioSightPlus-ID:

  • macOS 15 (Sequoia) or newer is required.

If your operating system does not meet this requirement, BioSightPlus-ID will not function.

Option 1: Use Microsoft Edge

If you are experiencing issues with Google Chrome, try launching BioSightPlus-ID using Microsoft Edge instead.

Option 2: Reset Chrome Screen Recording Permissions

  1. Open System Settings from the Apple menu.
  2. Select Privacy & Security from the left navigation pane.
  3. Scroll down and click Screen Recording (or Screen & System Audio Recording, depending on your macOS version).
  4. Locate Google Chrome in the list of applications.
  5. If Chrome is disabled, enable it.
  6. If Chrome is already enabled:
    • Turn the permission off.
    • Close System Settings.
    • Reopen System Settings and return to Screen Recording.
    • Turn the permission back on.
  7. Completely close and reopen Chrome.
  8. Retry launching BioSightPlus-ID.
