BioSight-ID Eye-con RedWe strongly recommend completing a practice BioSight-ID exam within your course before starting any high-stakes assessment. This will help ensure you're familiar with how the system works and can use it confidently.
Positioning Yourself
- Before your session begins, the monitoring tool will display your video in a pop-up window with a frame for your face.
- Avoid sitting in a dark room or relying solely on your monitor to light your face. Instead, position yourself so your face is well-lit from the front. Also, avoid backlighting—such as sitting directly in front of a window—which can obscure your appearance.
- Get comfortable and position yourself and your webcam so that your entire face is visible—from the bottom of your chin to the top of your head.
- You must be properly positioned to click “Ready to Proceed.”
- If your camera cannot see you at this time, you will be unable to continue.
BioSight-ID Position YourselfProhibited Actions
During Your Exam
If the Eye-con turns red your camera cannot properly see you. Ensure you are not
committing any of the prohibited actions listed below.
You should not:
- Eat or
drink
- Leave
your seat (Take your bathroom break before beginning)
- Wear
masks or hats
- Look
away from your screen (unless permitted by your instructor)
- Cover
your face with your hand or rest your head on your hand
- If you're having trouble reading the screen, avoid leaning forward or lowering your head, as this obstructs your face. Instead zoom in.
Use the zoom function by pressing Ctrl and "+" on your keyboard to enlarge the content while maintaining proper posture.
System Speed
If your eye is still turning red despite being on camera, please ensure your computer meets our minimum requirements
and that your video card drivers are up to date. Note that the latest video
card updates may not be included in your regular operating system updates, so
checking for OS updates alone is not sufficient.
