Trend Micro: SEB errors before course opens

Trend Micro is not compatible with SEB presently. There is no current fix.

Workaround: pause/disable Trend Micro Maximum Protection, take your test with SEB, and afterwards reactivate Trend Micro Maximum Protection.

Trend Micro Maximum Protection, even on 17.8 (latest version) can cause Safe Exam Browser (SEB) to show one of the following error messages.

You can only run one instance of SEB at a time

Automatic Termination Failed

Microsoft Teams (ms-teams.exe) application is not allowed, but SEB is blocked to temporarily close it by security software

Trend Micro Password Manager

We have discovered that the Trend Micro Password Manager also prevents Microsoft Teams from closing.
Uninstall: https://helpcenter.trendmicro.com/en-us/article/tmka-14449 (this does not remove the Anti-Virus protection)

If you rely on this password manager, you will need to reach out to Trend Micro support for a solution.
